The Longest Day...Literally

Greetings from Japan! It's a beautiful, Sunday morning here and we just finished up an amazing breakfast and are waiting to head next door to church. Yesterday felt like the longest day as we left Gretna, Manitoba at 5am on Friday and arrived in Toyota at around 5pm on Saturday, but after a good nights rest we are feeling much better today! Praise God that all of our flights were on time, and the day of airports went incredibly smoothly. It could not have gone any better! We were greeted at the airport by Phil Hamm, a missionary from Canada, and Nozomu, a pastor from East Toyota Church, along with his family. They treated us to a supper of Sushi in Toyota where we tried everything from salmon and squid to my personal favorite, octopus! It was a great way to experience the culture right off the hop. We then headed to the "House of Hope" where we will be staying with Phil and Lydia while in Toyota. Seeing as we were pretty exhausted, it was an early night and lots of sleep for us! We are getting excited to attend the church today and be involved in a bunch of different things today, but more on that later!
Still looking chipper as we head to Vancouver

  3. Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing. I didn't even know that there was a Toyota. I thought that it was just the name of the automobile manufacturer, that meant Happy or something like that in Japanese. :) Very interesting.
